It wasn't long ago that our main source of energy was created by burning the oily remains of an extinct species. The only drawback’s of this method was the slow heating of our planet and poor air quality. To get around one of these problems energy facilities build skyscraper-sized exhaust towers funnelling the pollutants high into the atmosphere. It was only on hot summer days you'd notice a dark haze on the horizon. Luckily since then most of our town has converted to greener, decentralized energy solutions. These once active towers now stand as a reminder of our power-hungry greed from the past. Many still sit dormant awaiting there demolition. A year ago my friends and I witnessed one of these structures being torn down. Later that week we had bought a pack of firecrackers and attempted to blow up some leftover bricks we had laying around the house. Unfortunately, the firecrackers were not powerful enough to inflict any damage. My father said he might know of a place to buy more powerful explosives but ill believe it when I see it.
